“Compliments of the Day was painted from the same area as Chalk Bluffs at the base of the Cristobal Mountains. The sun was going down on a late January afternoon, and I painted it in a long composition to try to capture the long range of the mountains, and to catch the glow of the desert air with the setting sun. Breathtaking.”
